DUES: At the June meeting at Yankee Grill, a motion to increase the dues to $10.00 a year was approved. For members who find this a hardship, the dues would remain at $5.00. (Privacy on this matter will be between the treasurer and an individual member.) Bills will be mailed later this year.

SYMPATHY to Dr. Stu Herrick and his wife on the untimely death of their son, Ben last Spring. A donation was made to the Maine Medical Drug Rehab. program in memory of Ben.

We also express sympathy to the family of Sandra Richards on the death of her father and to the families of Bridget Boyle and Dr. Ed Friedman on the death of his father.

WEB SITE: Do you know that Steve Ramer maintains a web site regarding Osteopathic news?  From his Summer 2004 Newsletter this Editor gleaned the following: "In celebration of all those who worked in the spirit of family to create a legacy of osteopathic health care for this community.”  This inscription appears in stone on a rock that was placed on Brighton's front lawn on June 24, 2004. You may now view the engraving process from start to finish-http://www.ohmreunion.com.

Another item of interest tells of the Weeks Room of the Ketchum Library at the University of New England, Biddeford which now “houses the New England Osteopathic Heritage Center, an archival resource center with a growing collection of documents, photographs, and memorabilia that preserve the history of osteopathic medicine in New England." If you have items you would like to contribute, or know someone who does, please contact Gay Marks, NEOHC Archivist, at UNE, 207-283-0170 Ext. 2131 or neohc@une.edu.

Mark your calendars for the next major hospital reunion which is approaching, scheduled at The Elks Club in Portland, 1945 Congress St., for Saturday, October 22, 2005.

Steve asks if there is any interest in creating an Alumni Cookbook. People could sign up at the Reunion and a committee could be responsible for collecting recipe forms, etc. This could serve as a good fundraiser for future events. ramer@ohmreunion.com.
