On October 29, 2003, the stone was placed on Brighton's east lawn.  The weather was less than ideal.  The site was prepared around 9:30.  A near foot deep circular trench was dug, then partially filled with a packing gravel, and tamped down.  By 11:00 it was pouring buckets, but the rain subsided around 11:30 when the stone arrived.  The weight of the stone is estimated between 7 and 8 tons!  By around 1:00 pm, the stone was placed, and by 2:30, it was rotated into it's final position.  View all photos.
